what's that orange doing being an apple?

i saw the thing there just today, being an apple when it was an orange. i mean, what's worse than that! it always scored high in flavour, vitamins and pulpy goodness, why did it want to deviate from that. in contrast, an apple is known to be crunchy, refreshing and filling, but that is not its destiny to choose.. then it hit me, that actually that's natural selection right there! an orange tries to be an apple because an apple represents everything that's beautiful, and an orange wants to be more than the sum of its pulps. it wanted to improve itself, and in the course of doing so, the orange went pear shape. it was not yet crunchy, but hey that's life of a fruit, short and sweet! and in the stomachs of those who eat.
